Another athletic achievement by one of our employees

83 kilometers, over 12 hours in the mountains, and a dream that finally came true. The race started at 4:00 a.m. in Rajcza. Over 82 km through the Beskid Żywiecki range, with steep ascents and technical descents. The finish line appeared after 12 hours, 44 minutes, and 43 seconds. This is how this year’s Chudy Wawrzyniec +80 km race played out for our colleague, Daniel Bachliński.

It wasn’t an easy race – the Chudy Wawrzyniec route was long and demanding. Around the 40-kilometer mark, on a difficult descent, Daniel tripped over a rock, and after the 50-kilometer mark, he began to feel fatigue and pain more and more intensely. The first moments of doubt also set in.

One of the biggest challenges was the legendary “Oszust” uphill section – an extremely steep and demanding part of the route.

In moments like these, breaking the route down into smaller sections helped him. Instead of thinking about how far he still had to go to the finish line, he focused on the next checkpoint, the next uphill section, and the next step.

For Daniel, however, this race meant more than just the distance, elevation gain, or his time. For the first time, he competed on his own as a member of the Meden-Inmed Sports Team, representing our company.

It was a special race for me. Not just because of the distance, elevation gain, or my time. It was amazing because I could represent Meden-Inmed, the company I work for, in a place that’s also important to me as an athlete, Daniel says.

Congratulations on finishing the Chudy Wawrzyniec race, and we wish you continued success!
